A window appears with
8 pre-loaded color combinations labelled Selection # 1 through Selection # 7.
Note that the final selection is a standard black text on a white background,
and is labelled Standard. |
The 8 color combinations that come pre-loaded with the Color Optimizerä are based on feedback received by Eye 2 Eye
Inc. They are preferences chosen by actual individuals, and are examples of the
extreme subjective nature of color preference.
In fact, there are over 50,000 possible color combinations. We have
selected 7 for demonstration purposes. Some of these combinations may appeal to
you. Those that don’t can be replaced.
The beauty of this color selection process is that it
allows users the ability to customize their own favorite color combinations,
and to store these combinations for easy access, using the Color Optimizerä selection process.
1.
To identify your
own special color combinations and add them to the available selections,
begin the process by selecting "Start Color Optimizer". |
Don’t worry if you think you’ve made a mistake. You can
always go back; you can always discard your changes. Nothing is permanent. You
can start again as many times as you want, any time you want.
(If only painting your room was this easy!)
The process is designed to be fun. When you’re done, you
will be able to change the color of your screen, in an instant, to any one of
your stored color combinations.
2.
Click on OK
(Color Selection Welcome). |
3.
Click on OK
(Color Selection for Background). |
4.
Click on either
the white background on the left, or on the black background on the right,
whichever one you personally feel looks the best as a background color.
Neither may be pleasant to you. At this point though, select which is the
better of the two. The background color you selected will remain, and the
other one will have been replaced by a different background color choice. |
5.
Again, select
the color that is "more pleasing and preferable" by clicking on
your preferred color. |
6.
Continue this
process of elimination, and each time you will notice "the number of
primary selections remaining" will decrease from a maximum 20 downward
until you have completed the process. You may also proceed directly to the
luminance selection process by clicking on the color that you prefer,
and then pressing "Go To Shade Selection" |
7.
At this point
you will see the "Luminance Selection" window. (Note: If you selected either black or
white as your background preference, you will not see the "Luminance
Selection Window".) This displays the background primary shade that you
selected as "most pleasing and preferable", and offers you 12 variations
of this shade. |
8.
Click on OK
(Background Selection Chosen). |
9.
Click on OK
(Text Color Selection). |
10.
You now have 2
choices for text colors, each presented on your preferred background color,
as selected above. Begin the text color selection process by clicking on the
box with the best match of text color to go with your previously selected
background color. Neither may be pleasant to you. At this point though,
select which is the better of the two. |
11.
Continue this
process of elimination. You will notice "the number of primary
selections remaining" counter will decrease from a maximum 20 downward
until you have completed the process. You may also proceed directly to the
luminance selection process by clicking on the color that you prefer,
and then pressing "Go To Shade Selection" |
12.
At this point
you will see the "Luminance Selection" window. (If you selected either black or white as
your preference, you will not see the "Luminance Selection Window.) This
takes the primary shade foreground text that you selected as "most
pleasing and preferable", and offers you 12 variations of this shade,
when viewed upon the chosen background. |
13.
Click on the
shade that appears most visually appealing of the twelve choices. |
14.
Click on OK
(Color Scheme Chosen). |
15.
Click on OK
(Color Selection Complete). |
16.
Click on SAVE
YOUR CHANGES (Color Selection). If you don’t like this combination, you
may exit now or start again. If you save the combination now, you can discard
it at any time later. Don’t worry; this is supposed to be fun. Save it for
now and see what happens. |
17.
Click on OK
(Confirms Save Changes). |
18.
You will now see
the seven color combinations that were available, prior to you personalizing
and customizing your selection. You must now decide, which of the seven boxes
is the LEAST pleasing to you, as you will now replace this least appealing
combination with your personalized and customized selection. |
19.
Once you have
decided the least desirable color combination box, (for example box #7),
click on that box. Your custom selection will replace it, and will be
assigned a "hotkey" (for example Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F7,
if #7 was your selection number). You may use this hotkey combination
to activate this custom selection "on-the-fly" in any Windowsä program at a later time. |
20.
Click on your
preferred color combination box. This selection has now become your new
default color combination. |
This ends the setup
process. The program will automatically close and return to the Desktop.
Your screens controlled
by the Windowsä color palette will now be displayed in your
default color combination.
At any time, and from within any program, to change the color combinations to any of the other stored combinations, simply press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys and any key from F1 through F8 to change to another color combination from within the 8 stored. Remember that Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F8 will always bring you back to black text on a white background.
You can run the Color
Optimizer as often as you like, and replace existing saved combinations, with
newly customized combinations.
To change default color combination setting,
from the Start menu, select PROGRAMS. Select Eye 2 Eye. Select
Color Selection. |
IN THE DEMO VERSION: You will see the window “Eye2Eye VBR & Utility” and text
advising that this demo version is the property of Eye2Eye Inc. and not legal
for distribution. Click on OK. |
A window appears with
8 pre-loaded color combinations labelled Selection # 1 through Selection # 7.
Note that the final selection is a standard black text on a white background,
and is labelled Standard. Click on a tile
from within the combinations. This will now be your default combination. Click on
"Exit" to close the dialog box. |
Important
Note: The Color Optimizerä
will only affect the screen appearance. It should not affect the printed text
color. The print colors are determined by the font properties within your
software application.
Using the
Vision Break Reminder:
At a pre-determined
time interval (see How to Install the Eye2Eye Software
from the CD ROM - step 11 above), a two-minute warning message will appear, advising you
that in approximately two minutes, your Vision Break should begin. You are
advised to complete and save your work, and to close your current application
as soon as possible. |
This two-minute
warning message will automatically disappear after one minute if you do nothing.
Alternately, you may close the message box. |
When 2 minutes
have passed, the Vision Break Reminder screen will appear. It has a count-up timer that begins to
count-up from zero, every second. The timer displays how long you have been
on your Vision Break. When you are
finished your Vision Break, click on the Reset button. The Vision Break Reminder will disappear,
reappearing at your predefined time. |
